Read, mark, learn, & inwardly digest

Memorizing the Scripture, the Catechism, and good hymnody is an excellent exercise.

It fits with God's charge to the people of Israel (and to us): "And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates" (Deuteronomy 6:6-9).

Knowing God's Word by heart helps keep the devil, temptation, sorrow, and folly at bay.

However, many of us struggle to memorize things. That's why I developed this tool as an aid in memorization: revbuchs.com/memorization

Take a look, put it to use, see if it helps your kids, share as you'd like. And feel free to send me some feedback.
