2025 Bible Reading Plan

Access it here.

I recognize this plan won't be for everyone. I don't even know if it's good, yet. 2025 will be my test year. I've been using Peter Bender's plan for the last 7 years or so, and I was ready for a change. It's a great plan. You read the Old Testament once a year and the New Testament three times a year.

This year, though, I really wanted to slow it down. So here's the idea behind this plan -

  • read through the entire Bible at a 2-3 chapter a day pace

  • slowly meditate on Proverbs and Ecclesiastes 3 verses or so a day. Know that you'll read through Ecclesiastes at a faster pace during the regular reading. I won't apologize for having you read Ecclesiastes twice in a calendar year!

  • cycle through the Psalms. This is the Psalm plan I've used for years. It might need a revamp, but it does cover all 150 Psalms during the church year.

I'd be curious to hear what your Bible reading plans are. Different plans have different strengths, and this plan is focused on deeper meditation on God's Word with a particular emphasis on wisdom.

If there's anything goofy with the Proverbs citations, blame ChatGPT. I had a rough time getting it (and Gemini) to produce a coherent spreadsheet dividing the Proverbs up equally into 365 pieces. It kept giving me 305 equal pieces, so I pivoted decided we could to a slow read of Ecclesiastes during the last 2 months of the year.
